THE 6TH. ANNUAL ROCKFORD SPORTSMAN'S CLUB FLY SHOOT DREW IN NINE EXPERIENCED SHOOTERS AND THOUSANDS OF FLIES ON AUGUST 30TH. 2008. FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR WITH A FLY SHOOT HERE ARE THE RULES. YOU BRING YOUR FAVORITE BAIT AND YOUR FAVORITE .22 CALIBER OR SMALLER CALIBER WEAPON AND SETUP TARGETS AT A RANGE OF TWENTY-FIVE YARDS. THEN YOU WAIT FOR YOUR FIRST VICTIMS TO LAND ON A WHITE PAPER BEHIND YOUR BAIT. EACH TEAM CONSISTS OF A SHOOTER AND A SPOTTER. AS YOU WILL SEE, THINGS GET PRETTY MESSY DEPENDING UPON THE SIZE OF THE FLY YOU SHOOT. THIS YEAR THE BAIT WAS ESPECIALLY RIPE AND WE WERE DOWN-WIND FROM THE BAIT. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WERE GLAD LUNCH CAME BEFORE SHOOTING! MY SINUSES STILL REMIND ME OF THE SHOOT MANY HOURS AFTER THE EVENT. PLEASE LOOK FOR THE CAPTIONS ON SOME OF THE PICTURES. THERE ARE FIFTY-TWO PICTURES IN THIS GALLERY.
